It is a little late but I just found this link on painting tartan's it cover tartans, like the government tartan, the McKenzie tartan, the Gordon tartan, Royal Stewart, Hunting Stewart, Cameron of Erracht, the Leslie and the Douglas, along with other details of the highlanders in general.
